New events at Iowa, Mid Ohio, and Belle Isle in 2007 were great additions to last years Indy Racing League schedule. It has been written that attendance and TV ratings improved over the previous season, but there is no way to get a feel for that sitting at home. Sitting at home is exactly what you should not do in 2008. The IRL has published the 2008 schedule, and we have it here for you at RacingInformation.com. Danica Patrick and Sarah Fisher will hold up the ladies end of IRL racing for 2007, going wheel to wheel with Sam Hornish, Dan Wheldon, Helio Castroneves and the rest of the field in the 2007 IndyCar Series. Also drawing lots of attention, young Marco Andretti starts his second IndyCars Series season as the latest Andretti to step into an IRL race car. The Indy Racing League is the first of our covered series to publish their 2008 Schedule. It’s hard to believe that 2008 could be any better than the current years exciting races and finale. Unlike NASCAR, the IRL does not re-set the clock and the point system to create excitement in the last few races. It simply isn’t needed. At least a half dozen current IRL drivers will be legitimate challengers for the Championship at the beginning of the season, and the competition will be tight right up to the last few races.
