March 16 is the magic date for the kick off of the 2008 Formula 1 season in Melbourne, Australia. On the heels of a somewhat strange year, 2008 holds the potential for even more excitement. Two new races are on the schedule for 2008, including new street circuits. Many driver / team combinations are set, some are not. Team changes as well as new drivers on the scene will keep interest and excitement high.

Congratulations to Kimi Raikkonen and Ferrari for winning the 2007 Formula 1 driver and constructor Championship. What an exciting finale to the season. To have the driver Championship hinge on the outcome of the last lap of the last race is absolutely fantastic.
