ALMS, GT – 1 Class
Related: American Le Mans
Ours is a Corvette household. We currently have only one hanging around, but we have been known to have three, plus enough parts to make a good start on another one. We are always happy when Corvette ends up in the winners circle, but something is wrong with the ALMS GT-1 competition. Lack of competition is the problem. How long can this class endure running Corvettes and the occasional Aston Martin? It even sounds like Aston Martin may be pulling out to race in Europe only.
Where are the other serious team efforts from Viper, Jaguar, Ferrari, etc? Has “performance balancing†been a good or bad thing, and does it have any bearing on the lack of competitors? Is there really a problem here, or am I seeing ghosts?
