Following up an old posting on this subject, Corvette racing program manager Doug Fehan is quoted in a recent issue of AutoWeek as saying that “Chevrolet could justify competing against itself in the ALMS for only one seasonâ€. Ray Charles could have seen that one coming!
The article further quotes Fehan as saying “building a GT2 version of the car is one option open for next seasonâ€, but further states that they are not “leaning toward†GT2.

Ours is a Corvette household. We currently have only one hanging around, but we have been known to have three, plus enough parts to make a good start on another one. We are always happy when Corvette ends up in the winners circle, but something is wrong with the ALMS GT-1 competition. Lack of competition is the problem. How long can this class endure running Corvettes and the occasional Aston Martin? It even sounds like Aston Martin may be pulling out to race in Europe only.
